Recent Down Time |
Yeah, there haven't been any recent updates in a while, but hey-that's what excuses are for! I have good ones too. First off, our domain name expired for a couple of weeks making updating impossible until we renewed it. That took about. two weeks I think? THEN some personal stuff went down making a very stressful week and after that I came down with the flu for another week. Holy crap, that's like a month, but it's not like you guys expect me to update every day. This site isn't that popular. Believe me, I know. They wouldn't make me the "master of the web" for nothing.
Anyway, I did manage to add our basketball coverage schedule on the Live Broadcast page a couple weeks ago. Pretty spiffy, eh? I hope that helped since now that I brought it up, basketball season is pretty much over. In more current events, I am also working on this semester's bios on our new DJs! Hopefully, I should have those up by Friday if they decide to cooperate like good little minions. I think that's it. I might think of something else to add to the site before I come completely jaded towards my job.

It's my puppy! |
However, I am feeling pretty jaded. So I decided to get a puppy! She's a Pembroke Welsh Corgi (the fancy name qualifies her to be around $600.) The breed is probably most famously known from the hit animated TV series, Cowboy Bebop, which my family has decided to name her from. Her name is Ein (short for "Einstein") and I'll get her in about three weeks! Isn't she a cutie?
.Yes, she's worth being noted in an update on a college radio site. Want to make something of it, punk?

We're Back, Whether You Like It Or Not! |
We're back for an all new semester of college radio. We had a massive change of DJs, but change is good, right? Our staff is the same except for a change in Promotions Director. We just can't hold on to one of those for more than a semester.
With a new Promotions Director, that means we can focus more on promoting (obviously.) This means will be working insanely with providing our listeners free stuff. We're also working on creating a package deal to provide our services for parties and special events. So look for more info on this site in the future.
If all goes well, KSWH The Pulse 99.9 will be officially live starting January 30 th . Some DJs already got a jump start on their shows, plus we are still broadcasting Reddie basketball. It's a whole new year and we're ready to rock, hip-hop, pop. or whatever. Get ready to listen!

KSWH Mini Gift Guide |
Here's a gift guide on the high-end of the spectrum. High-end meaning pretty freaking expensive. So basically, these gifts should be for close family and friends. Not really because you love them more and they are worth it, but since you're so close they won't be to against sharing it with you. Everyone wins! Or hell, if you really are that greedy of a bastard, just buy these yourself with all the Christmas money you get from your grandparents.
iPod nano
Price: $199
I was considering listing good cds to buy, but then I figured, "Blarg, why don't they just pick their own crap from iTunes?" So anyway, I suggest the 2 GB iPod nano for $200. There's no need to get more gigs then that. Though it is a tad on the small side, the regular iPods have an obscene amount of space which you will probably never use. 2 GB is pretty much 24 hours worth of music and you can manage your play lists via iTunes.

Guitar Hero
Price: $69.99
Need a new rhythm game to hold you over the holiday season? Guitar Hero is the newest thing! Bundled with a control shaped like a guitar (or a guitar shaped controller) you rock your way through 30 rock anthems including: David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust, The Ramone's I Wanna Be Sedated, and Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water. Rock on!

Real Ultimate Power: The Official Ninja Book
Price: $9.95
Do you like ninjas? Are you pumped? Well this book will make you so pumped about ninjas you'll kick your mom in the face. Robert Hamburger created the ninja phenomenon and its time you and your friends join in too. This book is down right hilarious and at under $10, it's a great gift for your friends or yourself.

Hey girls and boyos, Halloween is almost here and you know what that means? DJ Bios are up! Well, to be honest, those two subjects have little to no relation. Nonetheless, if you check out our Shows section you'll be able to learn a bit more about what kind of shows our DJs offer. Also you will see how much I colossally suck at tables.

Hehe, coke monkey... Sorry, I apologize. |
The information that we have available on the DJs mostly consists of the kind of music they like. I thought this was important in presenting not only what type of music the DJ would be likely to play, but also give you a bit of insight on their personality. I found myself looking at their pictures and the music they listen to and thinking, "Yep, that looks about right." Go ahead and look to see what I mean!
Also up, to the right you can see our DJ of the Week. Click on their faces and an interview should pop up! Technically, it's probably more like a questionnaire since I didn't really sit down to interview any of these guys. It took me like, three months just to compile all the information for the DJ bios and they're not all there! So you freaking expect me to find the time to interview each person when they had trouble turning in a piece of paper? SCHAW!
Actually, looking back at what I just typed, that was probably unnecessarily harsh. This is most likely brought on by my near murderous rage bubbling inside of me due to the constant banging for that heartbeat of Henderson crap for homecoming going on right outside the KSWH office. I'm ready to murder the guys and I swear to God I could probably make it look like an accident or something. Seriously, I watch The Forensic Files, The FBI Files, and all the other stuff they have on Court TV and Discovery Channel. Anyway, have a good weekend and have fun on Halloween!

Fare The Well, Phillip! |
It's been a slow news week so this next section is a memorial to my loving shark friend, Phillip. I received him for my birthday. or Christmas or something like that. I can't really recall because I loved him so much that it seemed like we had always been together.
Phillip was named after my first D&D character named Fqwlup (pronounced Phillip), who was a male gnome-elf Halfling who had a blue lobster familiar named Bubbles who had a corgi familiar named Blbskbeludgbu in which the lobster rode on. Fqwlup also had female breasts for unknown reasons.
But enough of my dorky, insane existence, Phillip was an important member of the KSWH team and shall be sorely missed. He helped tremendously in the office by protecting my computer from raging pirates and ninjas. It was his willingness to help others that ultimately led to his demise.
During a brief outing with our Sports Broadcaster, Derrell Young, to assist with the broadcasting of sports, Phillip wandered off and was declared missing and presumed dead by the police. No foul play is suspected in the disappearance of Phillip and it is only hoped that he is now in a better place.
Although we do miss Phillip, we knew that we needed replacements to pick up the slack that he left behind. Since no one "person" was qualified for the job we hired three: Strummer the White Tiger, Rico the Tigard (half tiger/half leopard), and Froggy McFrog-Face the Frog. Welcome to KSWH! Now don't die!
