The Beat Goes On |
Hey everybody! There are two new features I added to the site that I neglected to mention. The first is amazingly visible to you on the right of every page, which is the aptly named Pulse Poll. My peers in the executive staff thought that there should be a poll, but none of us really knew exactly what to poll people on. So suggestions are definitely welcome, either by e-mail or our Guestbook.

Pretty llama... funky llama... |
The second is the new addition of the Shows page. This shows the schedule of all our DJs on KSWH The Pulse 99.9. I'll try to get more information up as it becomes available. I know I promised this last semester, but I was very busy just getting the KSWH & HTV websites (my very first websites) up and running. That's one excuse anyway, my other excuse involves flame-nado's (a tornado consisting mainly of flames) and ninjas, and while it is more interesting it's slightly less believable.
Finally, there's something to look forward to at the beginning of the week. Starting Tuesday, and every Tuesday afterwards, KSWH The Pulse 99.9 is partying out on the quad! Basically, we put out these huge ass speakers blaring are stellar tunes. This all happens 12:30 to 1:30pm so there's plenty time to just chill outside on the quad and listen to music.
But that's not all; we will also be hosting games and other events to award/give-away prizes. Free stuff, free music, and free entertainment all brought to you by KSWH The Pulse 99.9

I Heart Contests |
Happy Valentine's Day, or happy Singles Awareness Day for all you single people out there. It's a great day to be single since it just means we get to save our money and spend it on ourselves. So don't you dare complain you ungrateful bastards!
We're starting our first contest of the semester, people! The best thing is it doesn't require any skill and you don't have to pay to enter. Come by our radio station (located in the Garrison center) to pick up your very own "Check Your Pulse" sticker. Then all you have to do is stick it on your car so people can see it. If one of our staff passes by your car and sees a sticker, they'll be sure to write you a ticket so you can get free stuff!

Party at Thrio's! |
County Line , Amanda Rogers, and Jupiter Sunrise will all be appearing February 9 th only at Thrio's in downtown Arkadelphia. The word is that things will go down around 7:30 . I'm not too sure what the exact cover charge is (possibly around $5,) but be sure to bring extra cash for drinks and souvenirs! Here's a little info about the bands:
County Line is a local band just starting out. Hailing from Henderson State University , County Line will be playing in good company as they have a similar sound to Jupiter Sunrise. Starting out bands need your support, and who knows, if they get big you can tell your friends that you saw them at Thrio's!
Amanda Rogers is part of the indie label, Immigrant Sun, and describes her sound to be like "...if John Lennon and Thom Yorke had a female love child possessed by the spirit of Beethoven." Amanda is currently touring with Jupiter Sunrise and has also played with the likes of Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday, and Fallout Boy. www.myspace.com/amandarogers
Jupiter Sunrise has been compared to bands from Weezer, The Who, The Beatles, Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday, and more. They have released their first album "Under a Killer Blue Sky" under the Undecided Records label which can be bought at their website and in stores. www.myspace.com/jupitersunrise www.jupitersunrise.net

We're Back |
We're back for a new semester! There have been some major changes to our offices so that's why this site isn't exactly up to date. We got some better computers but the proper software for them didn't arrive until today. There have also been some staff changes, which I will update as soon as I find out exactly what the new staff does and who the hell they are. Speaking of which, I did get my job back (yay me!) Apparently nobody else applied for my job so I got my under-qualified self back in the money.
Also, we're excited to announce that our station is now automated! This means that the majority of the station will be handled by computers instead of directly by hand. It's the future, baby! Now how does all this work? We have no flippin' clue, but we hope to learn before KSWH goes officially on air. Wish us luck!
Better, new, and important announcements about several other new changes to KSWH are on the way... As soon as I figure out where all the features are hiding in the downgraded Dreamweaver we got.

Shaken, not stirred |
KSWH The Pulse 99.9 is hosting another game tournament! It's time to test your gaming skills against each other in Nintendo 64's 007: GoldenEye.But don't think of the dated game as a poor man's answer to Halo, GoldenEye is the one that started the multiplayer console craze. Once you show off your mad Bond skills to everyone and come up on top, you could win GoldenEye's long awaited sequel, GoldenEye: Rogue Agent for the Gamecube.
If you haven't played the game before, newbies are still encouraged to enter! The goal of the game is basically just to try to shoot the other guy in the face enough times to make him go down. The contest will be a free-for-all with four people to a screen. Additional rules will be given at the event.
Everyone is invited and it's completely free to enter. It all goes down on December 7th. Game time starts at 7:00 pm (notice a trend?) in the Banquet Room in the Garrison Center at Henderson State University.

Cheap tricks |
Totally awesome news today! We've gotten cheap! Well, cheaper than usual. Did you know that our entire radio broadcast signal is transmitted from a Pez attached to a 12 volt battery? Anyway, enough about us, this cheap news is for you guys. First off, our sponsorship packages have dropped significantly. Seriously, we're selling these things at stupidly low prizes. What's wrong with us? Have we lost all our dignity? ...Hell yes!
Not only have we dropped prices but we also are giving away free food every Friday from 11 am - 5 pm. We call it, Free Food Friday! Aren't we clever? Just listen to the shows on Friday and when the DJs announce they are giving away coupons, call them in the booth at 230-5218. It's that easy! And it's not like we're asking you to find a cure for cancer or something, so give it a shot! What do you have to lose?

We're not dead, yet. |
Sorry for the lack of updates! Attending a mass media convention paired with a small crisis within the station ate up more time than I thought it would. First of all, I have some small updates to the site to talk about.
We got a brand spanking new Guestbook! Provided from the awesomely free guestbook provider www.freegb.net. We'd love to hear from you. Whether you want to talk about our site, our station, the weather, your favorite TV show... whatever! I'll try to make the staff reply as much as possible. Also, suggestions would be nice! I was thinking about maybe an Oekaki board but I'm not sure if I want to tackle that much Japanese and I doubt the other staff members would want that much useless crap on the board.

So cuuuute! |
In other site news, see the cute little penguin on the left? That's HTV's (Henderson's TV station) mascot and its logo. It also serves as a button that links to our sister station's site. Most information will be shared between the two sites, but other info will be exclusive to one site. So be sure to visit both sites! A Pulse logo will also be visible on HTV's navigational bar as well, so you can zip right back when you're done exploring the site. How freaking awesome and convenient is that?
